To my annoyance being in the US, I discovered you can only use the ATM if you are a customer at that bank, otherwise you get a charge.
Now, to be fair, in the UK we do have cash machines where they’re more situated for convenience and not attached to a bank e.g. at a corner shop or portable machine at an event, and those do have a charge. But using a cash machine at a bank does not, and with all machines you can use any card for any bank.
Makes it very inconvenient
